The Acting Out Playhouse: About Us

The Acting Out Playhouse is colorful and full of life,
changing, all the time, to meet the needs of students and
their performances.
We are designed to help develop confidence and the
communication skills children need in every aspect of their
lives while teaching age appropriate theatre skills.
Our supportive and nurturing environment encourages risk
taking and helps foster individual strengths. The classes
encompass educational strategies and techniques to teach
and or reinforce gross, fine, verbal and listening skills while
encouraging creativity, trust in self and others, sharing,
generosity and the use of the imagination.
Though we are a NON-Competitive school we strive for
excellence and personal best .

Our classes teach stage craft in a fun and exciting way.

The Acting Out Playhouse is located on High Street, at the old
Firehouse, in the beautiful and historic Village of Warwick, NY,

Warwick is the home of the Famous Applefest which brings
thousands of visitors to the Village.
All year long, you can enjoy antiques shops, fine dinning, a
latte at one of the local coffee houses or sit quietly at one of
the many parks.

Ms. Terry : Artistic Director/Instructor,
holds a degree in Elementary and Special
Education and brings her 27 years experience
as an acting, and dance teacher to The Acting
Out Playhouse.
Her 2005-2006 credits include:
Director/Choreographer of Sanfordville's
"Oklahoma Jr", Pine Island Elementary School
"Children Participate in Relief Concert" where
she conceptualized, wrote, directed and
choreographed a concert with 250 students
from Pine Island. $2,500 was raised and
donated to a school in New Orleans. During the
summer of 2006, Ms. Terry, directed and
choreographed "Godspell Jr." and in 2007
"Once on This Island Jr."performed at the
Lycian Performing Arts Centre in Sugarloaf NY.
You can see her on YES and ESPAN in a NYC
local Restaurant Commercial.
She is a Professional Entertainer in New York
City and has studied with Chuck Stead, Abby
Harkavy, Phil Black and many others.
